Curriculum

Child Neurology Residency

Curriculum Total: 13 blocks, 4 weeks each

PGY-3

(Adult Neurology Requirement done at Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center)

  • Six blocks of Inpatient (to include general neurology and stroke)
  • Six blocks of Outpatient (to include neuro-oncology, cognitive, movement disorders, neuro-immunology and neuromuscular)
  • One block of Epilepsy
  • Half day per week designated to pediatric continuity clinic

PGY-4

  • Five blocks of Inpatient
  • Six blocks of Elective (to include neuro-anatomy, neural and behavioral development, neuropathology, neurophysiology, neuroimaging/neuroradiology, neuropsychology and neuro-immunology)
  • Two blocks of Outpatient
  • Half day per week designated to pediatric continuity clinic

PGY-5

  • Three blocks of Inpatient
  • Two blocks of Outpatient
  • One block Child Psychiatry
  • Seven blocks of Elective (to include neuro-anatomy, neural and behavioral development, neuropathology, neurophysiology, neuroimaging/neuroradiology, neuropsychology and neuro-immunology)
  • Half day per week designated to pediatric continuity clinic
