Meet the Director

Child Neurology Residency

Missing file.

Dear potential trainees,

As the Program Director of Child Neurology, I would like to welcome all those interested in training opportunities at Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children's. The division of neurosciences is an outstanding collection of clinicians, educators and researchers who are involved in the child neurology training program and who serve as mentors for the residents who are training in child neurology.

Barrow offers an unparalleled experience in the care of infants, children and the complete spectrum of conditions involving the nervous system. We have tremendous exposure to epilepsy and electrophysiology, especially as the most prominent center in North America for children with hypothalamic hamartomas. We have clinics in neuromuscular disorders, cerebral palsy, pain managementheadaches and migraines, neurocutaneous disorder and much more. This training program allows trainees to receive exposure in all types of neuroscience education from birth to young adult.

Research opportunities also abound for residents with interest and aptitude. We invite you to come and meet with us and determine if Barrow’s Child Neurology Program is right for your needs. We have a rigorous program, with an enthusiasm for teaching the field of neurosciences.

Residents trained here will be poised to become leaders in the field as both clinical academic researchers and caretakers of children and adolescents and their families with complex neurological conditions.

Sincerely,

Kara Stuart Lewis, MD
