Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellowship

Aline N. Branca, MD

Aline Branca is a third year fellow. She received an undergraduate degree in Biology from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York. She received her medical degree from the State University of New York Medical University in Syracuse, New York. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at Eastern Virginia Medical School/Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters in Norfolk, Virginia.

Elizabeth R. Diaz, MD

Elizabeth Diaz is a third year fellow. She received undergraduate degrees in Dance and Human Biology from the University of California, San Diego. She received her medical degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond, Virginia. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at Carolinas Medical Center—Levin Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Ali (“Javod”) J. Sheikhizadeh, MD

Javod Sheikhizadeh is a third year fellow. He received an undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Southern California. He received his medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, Washington. He completed his residency in Pediatrics at Kaiser Permanente Southern California in Los Angeles, California. He also completed a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at the University of Texas—Houston.

Lindsay R. Blick, MD

Lindsay Blick is a second year fellow. She received an undergraduate degree in Biology from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. She received her medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita in Wichita, Kansas. She completed her residency in Pediatrics, including an additional year as a Chief Resident, at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.

Matthew Carter, DO

Matthew Carter is a second year fellow. He received an undergraduate degree in Biology from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He received his medical degree from the Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Parker, Colorado. He completed his residency in Pediatrics at Michigan State University/Sparrow in Lansing, Michigan.

Emina Cufurovic, DO

Emina Cufurovic is a second year fellow. She received an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. She received her medical degree from A.T. Still University—School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona in Mesa, Arizona. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Zachary Goldstein, MD

Zach Goldstein is a first year fellow. He received an undergraduate degree in Biology and History from the College of New Jersey in Ewing, New Jersey. Zach received his medical degree from the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed his residency in Pediatrics at Cohen Children’s Medical Center, Hofstra-Northwell School of Medicine in New Hyde Park, New York.

Michael Lintner Rivera, MD

Michael Lintner Rivera is a first year fellow. He received an undergraduate degree in French from the University of Washington, Seattle. Michael received his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine-Peoria. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine/Pediatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine/OSF-St. Francis Medical Center and Children’s Hospital in Peoria, Illinois. After residency, Michael worked for three years as an Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Hospitalist at Aspen Valley Hospital in Aspen, Colorado.

Nina Azer Salfity, MD

Nina Salfity is a first year fellow. She received an undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles. Nina received her medical degree from the Ross University School of Medicine in Portsmouth, Dominica. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky.

Rudolph ("Rudy") Wong, MD, MBA

Rudy Wong is a first year fellow. He received an undergraduate degree in Medical Science from Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts. Rudyreceived his medical degree along with a master’s degree in Business Administration from the Boston University Questron School of Business. He completed his residency in Pediatrics at UT Southwestern/Children’s Health Dallas in Dallas, Texas.
